Reader Discussion > A possible RA treatment

Dear Sir, I have had RA since 1997. I was initially able to put it in remission by thrice weekly doses of Minocin. After being mostly free of RA for several years I had a remission in early 2006 which included shortness of breath. I had a whole battery of tests which confirmed the return of RA along with lung involvement in the form of COPD. A rheumatologist in Albuquerque, New Mexico started me on quarterly infusions of rituxan, along with twice daily 500mg of cellcept for the RA and prednisone for the RA related lung involvement. I am essentially pain free and my lung function has improved considerably.
I would suggest you speak with your wife's physician about this type of treatment.
Good luck,
John
