Lockett does it right

Bill Lockett's announcement that he would resign from Kennerly, Montgomery & Finley is a good first move for the Law Director-elect. Although continuing his association with the firm that's representing Mayor Mike Ragsdale would not have legally or even ethically disqualified him from handling matters adverse to the mayor, Lockett saw the necessity of avoiding the appearance of impropriety.

Good for you, Bill. If the mayor had adhered to such thinking he wouldn't need legal representation.
