The vote is in and its...

Mayor 1, Commission 0.

For better or worse, Knox County's FY 2009 budget has been adopted. Despite a great deal of pre-hearing wailing and gnashing of teeth from several commissioners, they made no substantial changes to the mayor's $640 million budget. A number, but far from a majority, were ready to make cuts, surgical or blunt, but nearly every move to do so ended up in a trash heap of pointless discussions.

Credit Mark Harmon with the quote of the day: "Does how disingenuous can we be?"

Good question, Mark. Apparently there no bounds to disingenuousness with the majority of your associates.

They voted in a tax increase effective next year.

Lassie McKenzie and Rin Tin Tin Hammond are the worst. It is tough to watch people sell out for a County Commission seat.
