Ethical questions

So, applied to the problems which have occurred (and persist) in Knox County, a few ethical posers:

1: Is it ethical for one public figure to insult another in the course of a public meeting?

2: Is it ethical for a government employee to withhold from the public information concerning possible violations of state or local law?

3. Is it ethical for a journalist to dine with a government official at that official's expense?

4. is it ethical for a government official to use a local blogger as a stalking horse?

5. Is it ethical for the executive branch of local government to single out for criticism one member of the local legislative body when other members of that body have acted in the same manner that sparked the criticism?

6. To what extent should ethics be concerned with legality? Is it ethical to obey the letter of the law and violate the spirit?
